Starkweather & Shepley Insurance Brokerage Inc. Promotes Senior Vice President Elizabeth “Liz” Basile to Real Estate Practice Group Leader
EAST PROVIDENCE, RI JULY 2025 – Starkweather & Shepley Insurance Brokerage Inc. is pleased to announce the promotion of Senior Vice President Liz Basile to the role of Real Estate Practice Group Leader.
In her new role, Liz will oversee strategic planning, business development, financial performance, team leadership, mentorship, and carrier/broker relationship management.
A proud second-generation insurance professional, Liz began her career as an intern at her father’s agency, Mastors & Servant Risk Services Ltd. Over the past 20+ years, she has held progressive roles at Eastern Insurance Group (now Arthur J. Gallagher & Co.) and USI Insurance Services, focusing on commercial lines in the middle market segment.
For the past decade, Liz has been an integral part of Starkweather & Shepley’s Real Estate Practice, most recently serving as a Senior Commercial Risk Advisor. In this capacity, she has supported owners, developers, and property managers through services such as insurance procurement and negotiation, risk mitigation, policy review, budget planning for acquisitions and divestitures, refinancing support, and oversight of construction and development projects.
Her industry achievements were recognized in the Providence Business News September 2022 edition, “Notable Women in Insurance.” She recently moderated a panel on construction, technology, and brokerage trends at the New England Real Estate Journal’s 2025 Summit in Chestnut Hill, MA. Liz also played a leading role in launching Starkweather’s formal peer mentoring program, where she continues to serve as a mentor in her fourth consecutive year.
