Starkweather & Shepley Appoints Three Board Members

EAST PROVIDENCE, RI – AUGUST 2021 – Starkweather & Shepley Insurance Brokerage, Inc. (S&S) is pleased to announce the election of three additional Directors to their Board. Senior Vice Presidents Sean Cottrell, Normand Duquette, and Peter Jacavone were all elected to the Board of Directors by the Trustees at the firm’s recent annual meeting.

We are confident that these three new Directors, along with our current Board members, will continue to promote, grow and position our firm best for our clients, our associates and the future,” remarked Larry Keefe, Chairman & CEO of Starkweather & Shepley.

Sean Cottrell is a Senior Vice President and Human Services/Healthcare Practice Group leader for S&S. Sean’s responsibilities to the firm include being a member of the sales management team and a mentor to multiple practice groups and different Starkweather offices. Sean uses his commercial insurance expertise to assist his clients nationally with their insurance program design and risk management needs. He joined the company in 2006 and is a graduate of The University of Rhode Island.

Normand Duquette is a Senior Vice President and also leads RISCO Insurance Brokerage, Inc., a wholesale and professional lines subsidiary of S&S. In addition to his duties on the Board of Directors, he is a member of Starkweather’s sales management team and Quality Management Committee. Norm joined the firm in 2017 and is a graduate of Bryant University.

Peter Jacavone is a Senior Vice President and Construction Practice Group leader for S&S. Peter’s responsibilities include being a member of the sales management team and serving as a mentor to new sales associates. He joined the organization in 2009 and is a graduate of Rhode Island College.
