Celebrating 145 Years of Community Impact: Starkweather & Shepley Insurance Brokerage, Inc. Partners with Roger Williams Middle School for Exclusive Theatre Experience

 

PROVIDENCE, RI- Starkweather & Shepley Insurance Brokerage, Inc.(S&S), collaborated with Providence Performing Arts Center (PPAC), and Roger Williams Middle School (RWMS), to bring 45 students to see Frozen on Broadway, along with an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the theatre. Roger Williams Middle School is part of Turnaround Arts, a national program that is dedicated to creating innovative arts programs in about 70 schools across the country. The program was founded by former First Lady, Michelle Obama.

The collaborative efforts involved the school being awarded a scholarship through Experience PPAC, an initiative allowing students to attend a Broadway show at no-cost, facilitation of an exclusive private tour of the theatre, accompanied by a meet and greet with PPAC staff and lunch served by the S&S team.

“Part of our mission at Starkweather (S&S), is our commitment to the community, and we’ve fostered that mission for 145 Years. We are beyond grateful to have had the opportunity to help create a memorable experience for these students. Every child should experience theatre, and we are proud that we were able to do that with RWMS at PPAC!”, stated Stefan Petrella, SVP, Arts, Culture, & Entertainment Practice Director of S&S.

Thanks to the joint efforts and the generous support of Disney Musical in Schools, the school will also stage its’ own production of Frozen this May, marking a significant step forward in cultural enrichment for the students.
